For over 30 years now, Jean Michaud has been viewing, ordering and linking together bits and pieces of human sensibility. Behind his editing table, photogram by photogram, he likes to let the image gently converse with him. Jean possesses the discretion necessary for his task, the invisible but essential presence of editing.

Beyond his in-depth knowledge of the tools he uses, Jean remains first and foremost a cutting artist whose creative process is not mechanical, but rather a series of gestures that are both attentive and intuitive. When color-grading, he looks for the right balance of nuances to do justice to the emotion conveyed by the video. Whatever the work to be created, he deploys a fresh approach and tone with his almost imperceptible science of rhythm.

Always in search of a different perspective on things, Jean loves to discuss with his colleagues the value of a shot, the subtlety of a piece of music or the sequence of two images.
