Motion design lets you put your ideas into images, in the style of your choice. To ensure that the video produced meets your expectations, it's important to plan your project carefully. To this end, the director assigned to your production will guide you through a few important steps.
A simple, precise working method
With proper preparation (pre-production), motion design offers major practical advantages. It often involves fewer logistical challenges than filming, where the schedules of the various participants and the clearance of image rights can prove restrictive.
To be effective, all you need to do is prepare your graphic material with the help of your graphic designer, or assemble it yourself following the recommendations of your motion designer. Most of the time, the motion designer will ask you for vector files in PNG format, so as to have a malleable canvas corresponding to your brand image. This basic material will serve as a source of inspiration. Next, you'll need to write an on-screen narration or text, either with the help of a copywriter or on your own, to determine the precise length and content of the video. Once the narration has been recorded or the final text approved, the motion designer will present you with a timed storyboard. This will serve as a rough sketch of the video for your approval and comment.
As computer technology sometimes requires complex manipulations in this area, the preparation stage is essential to ensure that the animation stage runs smoothly. During this process, changes can sometimes turn out to be more complex than expected. That's why we take such great care.
The motion designer will then animate the video scrupulously according to what has been agreed. Once a first version has been completed, commentary rounds will be scheduled. The final version will be sent to the sound effects department.
Once the sound design has been approved, your video is ready to be launched on the Web and on screens to reach your target audience, as is the case here with one of our most recent productions in collaboration with Québec International :
